Happy Valentine's Day and Kate Birthday Pics

A Valentine's Day retrospective.

Kate at 2 weeks.

Kate at 12 months!

Last year on V-day my parents came over and we hustled out for a 45-minute sushi dinner. It was our first time out of the house and away from Kate so we felt a little strange and I was worried I would have some leakage in the boob area. :) This year, we are having an elegant dining experience at Mastro's in Costa Mesa. It should be fun!

Here are some pictures from Kate's super fun birthday extravaganza at the Irvine Park Railroad. We enjoyed Sprinkles Cupcakes and Macaroni Grill catered. I know her outfit was over the top but I couldn't help myself. :)

Brett made this oversized cupcake - I swear!

First pony ride! She was OK until the pony had an itch and did a full body shake. She started crying and I had to carry her the rest of the way. What will I do if she doesn't like horses?!

And, her 12 month pics in her chair. Should I keep doing these?

Dumb internet and stomach flu

Well, our DSL modem finally gave up the ghost. This has caused tremendous problems for me since I need the internet to do my job. I would have gone into the office today but the three of us have been battling a nasty stomach virus all weekend. Kate got it first on Friday and Brett and I succumbed Saturday night. We were in serious misery and if my parents hadn't come to help us out yesterday I don't know what we would have done.

So, today, I went back in time and rode the incredibly torturous dial-up modem train again. I can't remember the last time I was on dial-up. I can't even believe my work laptop even has a modem! Therefore, work was super slow and frustrating and our phone line was unavailable all day. Let me tell you, in this day in age, and being an impatient person, nothing makes you want to pull your hair out more than waiting for an email to send or a document to open up.

I plan to post some of Kate's year old and birthday pics as soon as this mess gets fixed. In the meantime check out Tonya's site where she has posted the last of our mini sessions. Sniff Sniff. It truly has been a pleasure getting to know Tonya better over this past year. I don't even see some of my long time friends once a month! I am grateful for the beauty and creativity she has brought into my life and of course the valued friend I will cherish the rest of my life. Thanks, Tonya! And I will see you soon!
